Does Jesus look the same to everyone?

Bible Answer: It's wonderful to see your daughter healed after a vision of Christ. There is little girl in our church who was healed in the same way, except through a dream of seeing Jesus.

Jesus definitely has a unique appearance, just as we all do. He was incarnate and actually had a real appearance. As far as Jesus taking on different appearances than the one that he actually has, Mark 16 tells us that Jesus took on a different form: "Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country" (Mark 16:12).

In another passage we find that the disciples on the road to Emmaus did not recognize Jesus. "As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him" (Luke 24:15-16).

Also, John, on the island of Patmos saw Jesus is a very different form. He had white hair as wool. His legs were as bronze. So it is quite possible that Jesus appears differently to various people.

One last thing, the vision your daughter had could have been of an angel. Ask her if the man had a beard. We know for sure Jesus had a beard. Isaiah prophesied about Christ's beatings and said, "I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting" (Isa 50:6).
