Don’t Give Up!
by Sonia Brown

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should
always pray and not give up. (Luke 18:1)
I have an adorable little niece. Her name is Shelby Hopper. She is 7
years old and is as cute as can be. One day she was playing a game of
Monopoly with her brother Jared and their grandma.
Now Grandma Billie was winning the game. She had plenty of money, houses,
hotels and of course property. Poor Shelby and Jared were tragically trying
their best to catch up. The game was getting intense when all of a sudden
their mom came into the room.
She exclaimed, "Kids it’s time to go to bed, you have school tomorrow."
Ah what a catastrophe. They tried so hard.
Well Grandma said, "Ok kids I quit. You better go to bed."
Jared also said, "I quit too."
But dear little Shelby screamed, "I won, I won, I won!"
Grandma couldn’t believe she said that and said, "Now Shelby how on earth
can you say you won when you know I had all the property, money, houses, and
hotels?"
Shelby remarked, "You and Jared said that you quit so I WON!"
This just goes to say that in order for you to win you must stay in the
race. Don’t quit. I know it sometimes seems really hard and things seem to
overwhelm you but you can’t quit. If you want to win life’s trials then you
must keep fighting and just like Shelby you’ll wear out your enemy and prove
you got the victory. Glory to God.
